Grupo Mayan Resorts Adventuresome and Cultural spots in Nuevo Vallarta
While there is endless adventure and fun at the Grupo Mayan Resorts, there is much to see and experience outside the resorts in neighboring towns. Introduce yourself to the natural beauty hidden away in the outer reaches of this region.
For all you thrill seekers out there, experience an exciting eco-tour. The outer reaches of Puerto Vallarta hold some of Mexico’s highest and longest zip lines. Take a speedboat to Boca de Tomatlan, a secluded beach at the edge of the jungle in Banderas Bay. Once on dry land, take an exhilarating off road excursion deep into the heart of the Sierra Madre Mountains.
North of Puerto Vallarta is the mystical mountain village of Nueva Valey, home to about 130 Huichol Indiands. Said to be the last tribe in North America living as it did in pre-Columbian times, a visit here is a breathtaking experience.
You won’t find any museums in any of the Grupo Mayan Resorts themselves, but a quick trip into the town of Puerto Vallarta boasts the Museo del Cuale. Set alongside the Cuale River, its excellent collections of pre-Historic objects are worthy of your time. The city’s International Friendship Club offers private tours of four private villas during the high season and Galería Pacífico hosts tours of public sculptures of the malecón, also during the high season.
Puerto Vallarta is a paradise for bird lovers, with more than 400 species of migratory birds and marine fowl, such as Tropical Kingbird, Great Kiskadee, Hooded Oriole, Amazon Parrots and the so-called Bobo, or Blue-footed Booby Bird. They displayed a beautiful array of colors, from bright yellow to deep purple, from deep blue to shocking green.
Puerto Vallarta is nestled into the wild jungles of the Sierra Madre mountains and one of the most exciting and beautiful aspects of this town, with an endless amount of exploring possibilities. There will never be a dull moment inside or outside the walls of the Grupo Mayan Resorts in Nuevo Vallarta.
