Endless Adventures at Grupo Mayan Resorts

Published by admin under activities, grupo mayan, tips

While staying at Grupo Mayan Resorts, you will find that there is never a shortage of excitement and adventure. The Grupo Mayan Resorts are known for the excellent on site amenities, but during your stay, you must not forget about the endless excursions that can take place outside the resort walls.

Dare Devils staying at the Grupo Mayan Resorts in the Riviera Maya can tag along for a trip to Cobá, where it’s possible to scale Nohoch Mul, the highest pyramid in the Yucatán. For eye-popping views of the surrounding jungle and beyond, you’ll need to climb 120 steps.

Unquestionably, Xel-Ha along the Riviera Maya is one of the best sites for snorkeling. The largest natural aquarium in the world, this natural park is a must. Ditto for Xcaret, México’s grandest theme park where snorkeling can be experienced in the park’s underground rivers. It’s also where to see fascinating indigenous wildlife, take hike through a tropical forest and swim with dolphins.

While staying at Grupo Mayan Resorts in Los Cabos be sure to venture out from January through March. This is the time of year when California gray whale watchers should consider signing up for a day trip to Magdalena Bay, one of only three calving lagoons along Baja’s Pacific Coast with one of the local tour companies. If you prefer to swim with them, visit Cabos Dolphins, which is considered one of the best dolphin centers in the world.

In Los Cabos, hike or bike the canyons of Sierra de La Laguna. At the end of your hike, take a swim in any of the freshwater springs formed by this mountain range’s waterfalls cascading over huge granite peaks. It is possible to climb more than 6,000 feet to the summit, but fair warning, the 15-mile climb is not for the fair-hearted or neophytes.

If you’re in the mood for outdoor adventures, on land or sea, Grupo Mayan Resorts can find the excursions that will appeal to you and your entire family. The expert on site travel agency will help you with all your needs to accommodate fun for any age.

Grupo Mayan Resorts Are In Full Swing. Excerpts by Lauren Price.

Published by admin under golf, grupo mayan, tips

Duffers and Grupo Mayan aficionados are happy to know that México holds the number two spot, behind Hawaii, as best golf destination for US travelers - and in 2007, México was honored with IAGTO´s (the global trade organization for golf tourism) prestigious “Golf Destination of the Year” for Latin America and the Caribbean.

FIT TO A TEE
Bring your A game to the brand new Península de Cortés course at, Grupo Mayan’s very own, Mayan Palace designed by Jack Nicklaus and his son, Jack II. Only a three hour-plus drive from Arizona, the Mayan Palace and Península de Cortés are part of an alliance with Arizona Golf Partners (AGA), and have hosted two AGA events. This 7,210 yards, elite 18-hole (par 72) beauty is set along a two-mile peninsula with a tidal estuary and the Sea of Cortés on both sides.

Half the holes are ocean side. The signature hole three will have you on your toes from tee to green. A blind shot off the tee box plays slightly uphill, guarding the visual delight you’ll enjoy as you approach your second shot. And – the course was featured in Nicklaus’ calendar as one of the most stunning new courses.

VIVA VALLARTA
16 miles apart, Puerto and Nuevo Vallarta overlook the Pacific Ocean. An amazingly popular golf destination, the number of view-infused world-class courses has grown substantially in recent years.

A Grupo Mayan course originally designed by Jim Lipe, Jack Nicklaus redesigned the 18-hole (par 72), 6,936-yard Nayar Course. Surrounded by the Sierra Madre and Banderas Bay, this course comes with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and Ameca River. Boasting a 129 slope rating, the signature hole is the 14th, 153-yard par 3 with the beach and a lake guarded entry on either side of the green.

Nicklaus also designed Grupo Mayan’s El Manglar, set along the Riviera Maya. An 18-hole (par 54), 2,923 yard course where water plays an important role throughout. Hole 7 is surrounded by sand traps and a tee box facing the ocean, hole 13, no less challenging, is played against the wind. “Donna Green,” signature hole 17, features two strategically placed bunkers on either side of the green and another at its center, making rather difficult to reach the desired par.
